Among the twenty-five 512 S models produced, chassis number 1002 started life as a 512 S Spyder and was delivered to Spain to Escuderia Montjuich. In 1971, it finished 5th in the 1000 kilometers of Buenos Aires driven by José Juncadella and Carlos Pairetti with racing number #20. It also raced several Championships by Escuderia Montjuic, among which the Tour de France was a big success. Juncadella finished 2nd overall and 1st in class in the 1000 kilometers of Paris.
